SerVaas Laboratories is hiring an HR Generalist to support its operation. The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws and providing support to employees and management. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle a variety of HR tasks, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and payroll. The HR Generalist reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Compensation: $60,000 – $70,000 annually

Work Setting: Onsite, compressed workweek (Monday to Thursday). Work will take place in both the office and on the production floor.

Job Type: Hands-on, flexible position requiring collaboration with a diverse workforce and timely delivery of results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring. Conduct new employee orientations and ensure smooth onboarding experience.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and issues. Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and promote a positive work environment.
  • Benefits Administration: Assist employees with benefits enrollment and inquiries. Work with benefits providers to resolve issues and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Recordkeeping: Maintains employee records ensuring completion and accuracy of detail such as employee information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure and other key details.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, OSHA, and EEO regulations. Maintain and update HR policies and procedures as needed.
  • Payroll: Process payroll as needed when the payroll specialist is unavailable.
  • Generate HR reports and analyze data to support decision-making.
  • Innovation Culture: Foster an environment of continuous improvement and innovation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the CHRO to align HR initiatives with business goals.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and coordinate employee training programs. Support career development initiatives and succession planning.
  • Participates and represents the company on Unemployment claim to include documentation and telephone hearings.
  • Safety: Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. Lead safety meetings, track, and report on safety performance metrics, and implement safety improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Pass an HR knowledge test.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of Experience in an HR role, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Desire to continue education and earn SPHR certification.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus;
  • PHR certification is a plus.
  • Payroll experience is a plus
