Are You Ready for Football Season?

September 13, 2023

Are you ready for football? If you’ve already got your stadium blanket, rain poncho, and clothing in your favorite team’s colors, you’re almost ready for football season. But are your other supplies ready to roll? Before you load up and head out for tailgating or take the kids to marching band practice, grab some Bar Keepers Friend and start cleaning. Check out these uses for various BKF cleansers:

Are You Ready for Football?

There’s more to being ready for football than loading up your SUV with a cooler, grill, and a few chairs. Before you wear your favorite player’s jersey to the big game, you launder it, don’t you? So, shouldn’t all your game-day gear be as clean as your jersey?

Beverage Containers

When someone says game day beverage, you probably don’t think of coffee. However, if you set your tailgate site up early like a lot of people do, your first tailgate beverage is coffee, not a cold one in a can. Clean up your coffee supplies with Bar Keepers Friend Coffee Maker Cleaner. It’s made to remove coffee stains, oils, and tannin buildup from coffee makers, but it works great on travel mugs and accessories. You can also use it to clean stains from stainless steel, porcelain, and glass.

Hard water spots? Use Bar Keepers Friend Coffee Maker Descaler to dissolve mineral deposit buildup and remove film from glassware.

Tailgating Furniture

Are you taking a few camp chairs to the tailgating party? I’m guessing the chairs have been sitting in a garage or shed since last season. They’re probably covered in dust, spider webs, and something dried up that some spilled on them last year. You can use Bar Keepers Friend Cleanser or Soft Cleanser on aluminum or steel outdoor furniture and parts – pop-up shelter supports, chair frames, and more.

Grilling Supplies

Serious tailgaters bring grills and food. A variety of BKF products can be used to clean a stainless steel grill, grilling utensils, and other supplies. MORE Spray + Foam Cleaner, the original powdered Cleanser, or Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser are appropriate for most outdoor items, including enamel-coated cast iron. To remove stains and burnt-on food debris from cookware or dishes, use Bar Keepers Friend Cookware Cleanser & Polish.

Musical Instruments

Those Friday night lights that illuminate the field also reveal grime on musical instruments. Use BKF Cleanser or Soft Cleanser to remove oxidation from cymbals and brass instruments (taking care not to get cleanser in any valve or mouthpiece). Wipe away the cleanser with a damp cloth and use a soft cloth to buff the surface to shine. Check out this video. Cymbal Cleaning using Bar Keepers Friend

Football Cleats and Metal Gear

I like BKF MORE Spray + Foam. It’s quick, easy to use, and gets the job done. Please note that before you clean any footwear, we do not recommend our products on leather. If you’re unsure of the upper material, test a small spot inside the shoe or under the tongue.

Use Your Creativity

One of the reasons people love BKF is that our cleansers are so versatile. From the kitchen sink to whitewall tires, there are thousands of uses for BKF. Just be sure to read the label and *always* do a spot test first.

What are you cleaning with BKF? We’d love to see your before-and-after photos!
