Cleaning Your Sporting Gear with BKF
Sports Footwear
Have you ever seen a professional athlete on TV with dirty shoes? I don’t think I have. Sports footwear starts out clean – whether on the track, pitch, or court, but by the end of the game, it might not be. Is it the same with your footwear?
I like BKF MORE Spray + Foam for cleaning my hiking shoes. My Brooks have endured some messy muck in the woods, and the More Spray + Foam has never failed me. It’s quick, easy to use, and gets the job done.
*Please note that before you clean any footwear, we do not recommend our products on leather. If you’re unsure of the upper material, test a small spot inside the shoe or under the tongue.
- Dampen a non-abrasive sponge
- Remove laces from the shoes
- Set to foam and coat the non-leather shoe parts, including the sole and cleats
- Let it sit for one minute
- Clean off the foam with a soft sponge
- Wipe with a soft, damp cloth
- Allow the shoes to air-dry
Pro Tip: Here’s a quick way to clean your dirty shoelaces. Spray a sponge with BKF Foam and Spray. Next, just pull the laces through the sponge. Be sure to squeeze against the laces as you pull. Sometimes, it takes me a couple of pulls when the laces are really dirty.
Metal Sports Equipment
Cleaning metal sports equipment, including bats, golf clubs, cleats, and more, can be daunting. However, BKF has products for cleaning most metal sporting equipment. But what if it’s old and rusty? BKF can remove rust and bring old equipment back to life!
For stainless steel, we suggest our Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish. It’s easy to use and designed to remove grime, oil, fingerprints, and more. Simply shake before using, and then wipe it with a soft cloth or paper towel. For a heavier stained surface, allow the BKF to sit for one minute before wiping dry.
Here’s what one BKF fan said in their one-minute video about cleaning an old golf club with More Spray + Foam. “Bar Keepers Friend for cleaning golf clubs is easy and quick!”
What About Your Home Gym?
