Do you have an old toilet that keeps clogging? We had one at our old house. It was a home from the World War II era, and it had some challenges. However, even a newer home can have toilets that continue to clog. You may not have a clogged toilet, but it could happen to you. The good news is you can do something to prevent it!
Toilets clog due to hard water, bowls that don’t fill, non-flushable items being flushed, and plumbing problems. However, if the clogs are reoccurring, it could be more straightforward. It could be that your pipes are causing friction. For example, if your pipes are pitted and crusty, it’s a lot more likely that your toilet will clog at the trap or other areas. Lubricating those same pipes can help “stuff” flow through your pipes with ease.
So, what lubricant should you use for the pipes in your toilet? Why, EZ-Flush, of course.
How Does EZ-Flush Work?
EZ-Flush is a glycerin-based lubricant that helps prevent clogs by reducing the friction between the bowl and its contents. The lubricant helps clear clogs and restore regular toilet flushing operation. Not only can it help unclog your toilet (keep in mind that this is NOT a drain opener), but its primary goal is to assist in the prevention of clogs. Would you like to learn more? A Two-Step Plan
Bar Keepers Friend has a two-step plan for keeping your toilets sparkling clean and clog-free. The plan uses two products: EZ-Flush and our Toilet Bowl Cleaner. A clean, smoothly operating toilet is the best way to prevent clogs. So, step one is using Bar Keepers Friend Toilet Bowl cleaner to make your bowl shine.
Step One: Bar Keepers Friend Toilet Bowl Cleaner
Step one starts with the idea that a clean bowl is less prone to clogging. I love this product because, unlike many bowl cleaners on the market, BKF’s extra-thick formula clings to the bowl! My favorite part is the angled spout, which allows easy under-the-rim application. It only takes five minutes to make your toilet bowl sparkle, even with hard water stains.
Step Two: EZ-Flush
As I’ve mentioned, you can technically use EZ-Flush to unclog a toilet. But why wait? It’s best to think of this product as preventative maintenance and a solution to an ongoing problem. Why not squirt a little in your bowl once a week? It sure beats dealing with a clogged toilet.
Have you used Bar Keepers Friend EZ-Flush or Toilet Bowl Cleaner on your toilets? Do you have any before and after photos? If you do, you can share them at #BKFBeforeAndAfter. We’d love to hear from you, and it could be featured on one of our social media accounts, our website, or even on a can of Bar Keepers Friend!
