Taking Bar Keepers Friend outside may be a new idea to some of you. Many long-time users of BKF products use it all around the home. They use BKF in the kitchen, bathroom, and even the garage. Yet many have never considered taking Bar Keepers Friend Outside. Have you? Because if you’re not using BKF all around the house, including outdoors, you’re missing a golden opportunity. Grills 

Yes, BKF products are great for cleaning one of the most challenging things to clean on your patio – the grill. To begin with, you can use Stainless Steel Cleanser & Polish on the outside of your stainless-steel grill. Just follow the directions, and the dirt, bugs, and watermarks from winter wash away! You can also use Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser and Bar Keepers Friend MORE Spray+Foam on most grill surfaces.

Patio furniture may be my least favorite thing to clean of all my outdoor projects. Especially the metal furniture. Steel tables and chairs tend to rust here in Indiana over the winter, and aluminum gets dull and spotty looking. Then there’s the buildup of dirt, grime, and cat hair. (Yes, there are feral cats in the woods behind my home, and I don’t know why they come up to my patio every morning and sit on the furniture. Could it be because I feed them every morning?)

Siding  

My home is part brick and part vinyl siding. Every spring, the vinyl begins growing mold. It happens to every home in the neighborhood, and if it’s not taken care of, the HOS sends the homeowner a notice with a time limit to clean it or face a fine. BKF to the rescue. All you need is either original BKF Powder Cleanser or BKF MORE Spray + Foam, a nylon brush, and a power washer. I use an attachment on my hose that I bought online, and it works great. When I’m done, no fine for me – it looks brand new. 

Window Cleaning 

If you’re looking for an easy clean-up of your outside window glass, BKF is the answer. 

• Lightly wet the outside window glass with your hose. 
• Make a paste of Bar Keepers Friend Powdered Cleanser and water. Note: Be stingy with the BKF powder. A little dab will do.
• Rub it on the glass and then let it sit for five minutes.
• After five minutes, wipe away the paste with a soft wet cloth or paper towel.
• Shine it clean with a dry rag.
