Using Bar Keepers Friend at the Office

June 29, 2022

Although I’ve used BKF for 50 years, I didn’t think of using Bar Keepers Friend at the office until I started working from home. We always have BKF products at home. They’re on a shelf above the washer and dryer, in the bathroom cabinets, and under the kitchen sink. However, I never took them to work. When our home kitchen, one bathroom, and a bedroom became my new office space, I realized I had dropped the ball. I used BKF products in my home because they worked. They worked better than other products and were often easier to use. So, why didn’t I use them at work? Do you use Bar Keepers Friend at the office?

Office Breakroom

At my last in-office position, there were two breakrooms. One had vending machines, and the other had a fridge, sink, and cabinets. Just like at home, you can use BKF to clean all of the above except the wood cabinets.

I’d recommend BKF MORE Spray + Foam for the office breakroom because it’s easy to use and does the job. The quote below isn’t about a sink in the office, but it gives you an idea of how effective this product is.

“Yesterday afternoon, I received the full-size bottle of MORE Spray + Foam cleaner that I got to choose. I have to admit. I was skeptical because I’ve tried so many other products. I tried it on a rust stain on my old kitchen sink, and to my surprise, it REMOVED it! Next, I will be trying it on my shower doors next and can hardly wait. You don’t mind cleaning so much when the product actually works! Thank you, Bar Keepers Friend. You are a keeper!!!” —  Mary D

The Office Coffee Maker

Did you know that BKF offers a Coffee Maker Cleaner? It’s specially designed to remove the bitter build-up that often happens to well-used coffee makers. Is there a coffee maker that gets used more than the one at the office? Probably not.

Tannins, proteins, and oils build up over time in coffee makers (and mugs). So, if your coffee tastes bitter, it’s probably because of tannins and oils, which the BKF Coffee Maker Cleaner is designed to remove. Bar Keepers Friend also makes a Coffee Maker Descaler designed to remove mineral build-up and add life to your coffee maker. And before you ask, yes, you can use these products on the office Keurig!

The Office Bathroom

I know you probably don’t clean the office bathroom. There’s janitorial staff for that, but what if it’s an emergency? I’ve cleaned a workspace bathroom more than once. I’ve cleaned up after someone became ill, wiped up spills, and even cleaned an office bathroom only hours before the Vice President of the United States of America visited our office. True story. So, even though staff is assigned to clean the bathrooms, it’s not a bad idea to keep BKF on hand for that occasional bathroom emergency.

I’m sure you know how to clean a sink with BKF, but did you know we also have Toilet Bowl Cleaner? Yes, we do, and it’s easy to use, even at the office. After flushing the toilet put six ounces of BKF Toilet Bowl Cleaner evenly all over the bowl. Next, let it sit for five minutes. Before you go to the next step, put on rubber gloves. Now, scrub the bowl with a toilet brush and flush to rinse. It’s that easy!

There are hundreds of ways you can use BKF products at the office. For example, did you know you can use BKF to clean windows, many types of floors (not wood), as well as most countertops and various desktops? Here’s more on what to clean with Bar Keepers Friend.
