Alex has been with Bar Keepers Friend for almost two years as a Content Marketing Specialist.

  • What is your position and role at BKF?

My role as the Content Marketing Specialist is to create content to promote Bar Keepers Friend across social media, create an overall social media, and produce digital advertisements.

  • Why do you work at BKF? What do you appreciate about BKFs culture?

I saw an employment ad and knew about Bar Keepers Friend. My stepmother and her family had used Bar Keepers Friend for several generations. I knew how good the product was and it was important to me to work with a company that had a product I could be passionate about. I think it says something that so many of the employees here are loyal fans like me.

  • What's something about BKF that most people don't know?

I think it's that we have so many products. When I came to work here, I knew about the original powder Bar Keepers Friend Cleanser, but I didn't know BKF had something to clean almost anything.

  • How do you use BKF products at home?

I use several products but what I use most are the Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser and  MORE Spray + Foam. I use the soft cleaner on my sink, stove, and bathtub. One of the things I use More Spray.+ Foam on is my Dad's glass shower door. He has well water and it heavily stains the glass, but the More Spray + Foam makes it sparkle. I also use the Bar Keepers Friend Coffee Maker Cleaner and Bar Keepers Friend Coffee Maker Descaler.

  • What are your hobbies and Interests?

I love music. My first concert was Shania Twain, and I'm still a fan. I also love photography. I started a side business last year as a photographer. I've done events like a wedding, but my favorites are candid shoots and family portraits.

  • What would you like to add?

I'm a huge sports fan and root for our home teams. I graduated from IU in 2018 so, go Hoosiers! Here's something interesting. I have dual citizenship US and New Zealand! I'm also a two-time cancer survivor. When I was 5 years old, I was diagnosed with stage 4 Wilms kidney tumors. I was given a 10% chance of survival. I'm here today because of stem cells and Riley Hospital. They saved my life. Five years ago, I was diagnosed with stage 1 Thyroid cancer, but I'm in remission now. I want to thank all the healthcare professionals who saved my life. Thank you. And I'd like to share a call to action for Riley Children's Hospital. They do so much good for so many children and their families. If you'd like to make a Donation or Volunteer, your time and money couldn't be much better spent than helping Riley help kids.
